The sanctuary of Our Lady of Constantinople, in Papasidero, dates to the 17th–18th century and is dedicated to the village’s patron saint, celebrated on the Tuesday after Pentecost. Together with the Grotta del Romito, it is one of the places worth visiting in the municipal territory, which coincides with the Valle del fiume Lao nature reserve, in the Pollino National Park. The sanctuary completes a visit to the village: perched on its crag above the Lao, Papasidero keeps its medieval layout with the mother church of San Costantino and the Norman-Swabian castle, and in its festive calendar pairs the patron saint with the co-patron San Rocco, celebrated on the Sunday after Ferragosto.
