Sangineto Lido
Sangineto’s seaside at Le Crete, along the SS18, where the Riviera dei Cedri reaches its southern limit: the town’s beach quarter, lively in summer.
Sangineto Lido, at Le Crete, is the town’s coastal core, grown near the sea along the SS18 state road, the coastal road of the Upper Tyrrhenian Cosentino coast. This is where Sangineto’s summer life concentrates: in the warm months the Lido’s population multiplies compared with winter, while the old centre stays on the hill. The Lido also marks a geographical boundary: the Riviera dei Cedri, the coastal strip where the citron is grown and processed, runs from Tortora to Sangineto, and this seaside is its last stretch southwards, before the territory of Bonifati. The nearest railway station is Belvedere Marittimo, on the Tyrrhenian line.
